Switzerland and Cameroon open their FIFA World Cup campaign on Thursday and they would look to make a good start to their groups.
Considering that their group has the likes of Brazil and Serbia, a win for either the Swiss or the Cameroonians will be vital for the sides. Switzerland boast a fairly good record in World Cups and the last time they didn’t make it to the next round was back in 2002. In the previous edition of the tournament, they reached the Round of 16.
Cameroon meanwhile, didn’t quality for the tournament in 2018 and they haven’t gone beyond the group stages since 1994 and doing that this year will be an achievement for them.
Last five games:
Switzerland: Yann Sommer should be back available for the Swiss after picking up an injury earlier this year. That is the only major concern the Swiss had and they should have a full squad available to them.
Cameroon: Like the Swiss, Cameroon too should have a full squad available for them tomorrow.
Switzerland possible starting lineup:
Sommer; Rodriguez, Akanji, Elvedi, Widmer; Xhaka, Freuler; Shaqiri, Sow, Vargas; Embolo
Cameroon possible starting lineup:
Onana; Tolo, Castelletto, Nkoulou, Fai; Toko Ekambi, Hongla, Anguissa, Mbeumo; Aboubakar, Choupo-Moting
