Weston McKennie has accepted Leeds United contract

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie has ‘accepted Leeds United contract proposal’.

Personal terms are not an issue for McKennie but the two clubs are currently in discussions to decide the conditions of the deal.

The 24-year-old has made 96 appearances for Juventus after completing a move to the Italian side from FC Schalke 04 in 2020, initially on loan before signing permanently.

McKennie impressed during USA’s World Cup campaign as his nation reached the last 16 of the competition.

Jesse Marsch has added two new signings to his squad this window after the arrivals of Maximilian Wöber and Georginio Rutter.

Marsch’s side currently sit 15th in the Premier league just one point above the relegation zone and have won three out of their last 17 games in the league.

Leeds will face Accrington Stanley away at the Wham Stadium in the fourth round of the FA Cup this weekend before returning to Premier League action the following week away at Nottingham Forest.
