Manchester City winger Carlos Borges is inches away from securing a move to West Ham, The European Conference League winners are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a tough campaign next season that will see them compete in the UEFA Europa League.
As per a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign the 19-year-old. Borges’ move to the London Stadium is expected to be a permanent deal. According to Romano, ‘The Hammers’ have a verbal agreement with City for a €14m transfer fee. However, as expected, City is set to include a buy-back clause in this transfer deal.
Having joined City’s youth academy from Sporting Club de Portugal, Borges impressed with his skills and gameplay. Rising through the ranks, Borges last played for City’s U21 team. In 38 appearances for the side, Borges scored 26 goals and assisted 13. However, these performances were not enough for him to book a place in the senior side. With the Portuguese now set to move to West Ham, he will look to be a regular feature in the senior side of The Hammers.
