Manchester United legend and former England striker, Wayne Rooney voiced his opinion about Brazil coach Tite’s dilemma in offering star player Neymar, the correct position and where the player should play in order to yield the maximum dividends for his side.
Speaking to the Indian newspaper The Times Of India in an exclusive interview, “It depends on the system and how the coach positions him. He is a fantastic player and scored a hatful of goals. As a coach, I would rather have (Neymar) in my team than in the opposition. I’m sure the Brazil coach will have set him up in the right way and help Brazil to win their sixth,” were the words of the England legend as he pointed out the importance of Neymar in this Brazil squad as the player approaches his third World Cup.
Being a coach, Rooney remarked on his idea for Neymar’s preferred position for the upcoming World Cup, “He can play across the front third. To be honest, I would probably ask him to start on the left because it would allow him to pick the ball up and run, rather than play with his back to the goal. He can create great opportunities for others and for himself. For me, left wing is his best position.”
