Following Liverpool’s 6-1 victory versus Leeds United on Monday night, many fans have been quick to praise Trent Alexander-Arnold’s sparkling hybrid-midfield performance.
After a difficult season for the 24-year-old, tonight was a reminder of just how brilliant the Englishman can be as he excelled in Liverpool’s offensive plays.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher tweeted: “Trent sensational in his new hybrid role!”
One fan on twitter wrote (@LiamMLFC): “I think we’ve found ourselves a new Trent role, what a performance.”
Jürgen Klopp’s side have struggled to replicate the heights of the last few seasons and it has become apparent that their midfield requires an overhaul.
Alexander-Arnold will now give Klopp a difficult decision when deciding where he best operates within the starting 11 and such performance may be the catalyst to a position change for the 18-capped England international.
Liverpool have now closed the gap to two points on seventh-placed Brighton and Hove Albion and have a game in hand on the Seagulls.
