Tottenham to bid for Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat

As reported by La Repubblica and Moroccan outlet Le Matin, Tottenham are rekindling their interest in Morocco and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The Premier League side tried to sign the 26-year-old defensive midfielder last summer but the deal fell through despite the player being one step away from joining Spurs for £12m back in 2021, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Reports in England suggest Liverpool could yet challenge Spurs for the player, however, with just 18 months left on his contract in Italy with La Liga club Sevilla also an interested party.

Amrabat has stood out in his nation’s impressive opening two games at the World Cup in Qatar as Walid Regragui’s side beat a much-fancied Belgium 2-0 after a 0-0 draw with Croatia. A win over Canada in their final game will see Morocco into the last 16.
