Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham have started concrete contacts to be informed on Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen. Nothing is advanced yet, but the player is said to be keen on the move.
The 24-year-old defender has made 47 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season in all competitions, scoring two goals, providing one assist, and keeping 13 clean sheets. Transfermarkt value Tapsoba at €30.00m.
Tottenham have had the defender on their list for a long time, and are looking to sign a new central defender this summer, with Clement Lenglet returning to Barcelona from his loan deal.
Leverkusen finished 6th in the League this season with 50 points, and got to the Semi Finals of the Europa League, losing 1-0 on aggregate to Roma.
New Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is yet to make a signing, and this could be his first incoming for the Lilywhites. The Australian likes to set up in a 4-2-3-1, meaning Tottenham are likely to transition to this formation, moving from a three at the back, to a back four.
