Chelsea defender Thiago Silva insists coaches are not to blame for Chelsea’s poor season and admits he and his teammates must take responsibility.
Silva tells BeIN: “We can’t blame coaches if we don’t take responsibility. It’s difficult moment for Chelsea, lot of changes… we have many top players but you also have someone unhappy.
“We need a strategy in order not to make the same mistakes next season.”
Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League on Tuesday night after suffering a second leg quarter-final defeat to Real Madrid.
Since Frank Lampard took charge following the departure of Graham Potter, the Blues have lost four consecutive games in all competitions.
The West London club are currently languishing in 11th place in the league and it is beginning to look increasingly likely that they will be without European football next season.
Lampard’s side host Brentford next Wednesday at Stamford Bridge before facing London rivals Arsenal the following week.
