Championship side Southampton have tabled a second bid for Burnley’s Manuel Benson. The Saints are looking for a loan with an option to buy, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
They are actively engaging with Burnley, with an official second improved offer sent to the Clarets’ today.
This signals Southampton’s commitment to securing Benson’s services and adding a new dimension to their attacking lineup and to replace Nathan Tella who they lost to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Benson, the Belgian winger in question, has expressed a keen interest in making the move. This desire from the player adds another layer of intrigue to the transfer, highlighting the attraction of joining the ambitious project underway at St. Mary’s Stadium.
The 26-year-old has played just 100 minutes across the Premier League and EFL Cup for Vincent Kompany’s Burnley this season, a stark difference from the 1,485 minutes the Belgian played across 33 Championship games last season, where he scored 12 and created three as Burnley returned to the Premier League.
