According to the Mirror, Romelu Lukaku is scheduled to return to Chelsea this summer after a season-long loan with Inter Milan.
The Belgian striker will hold talks with manager-in-waiting Mauricio Pochettino and is expected to undergo pre-season training with the West London club.
Lukaku has scored six goals in the Serie A this season whilst contributing five assists in 21 appearances. Inter can no longer afford to keep the 29-year-old and as such, he may have the opportunity to rebuild his career at Stamford Bridge.
The ex-Manchester United forward fell out with former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel last season after he gave a TV interview to Sky Italia admitting he was ‘not happy’. Within the interview he also critiqued Tuchel and his tactics.
This caused Lukaku to become unpopular among Chelsea fans and it was hard to foresee a future for the Belgian at Stamford bridge.
However, it appears as though Pochettino is willing to offer the forward an opportunity to regain the trust of Chelsea supporters.
His future at the club still remains uncertain.
