Richarlison says his Brazil performance suffered in Neymar’s absence

As quoted by O Dia, Brazil striker Richarlison says his performance in the 1-0 Group G win over Switzerland in Qatar suffered due to team mate Neymar’s absence through injury. The Tottenham forward explained:

“Neymar is Neymar, he’s our number 10 and, like it or not, he takes away their markers and creates space for me. As the number nine, he makes a lot of difference and I’m waiting for him to recover soon… Today, I didn’t have many chances to score face-to-face with the goalkeeper, but I fought, I ran and I defended. The whole team is to be congratulated, we got the goal.. these three points are very important for us.”

Brazil are now sure to make the last 16 after two wins from their two games so far and will win their group with a draw in their final group-stage game with Cameroon on Friday.
