PSG were prepared to allow Mbappé to join Liverpool last summer

According to a story run by The Athletic, Paris St-Germain consultant, Antero Henrique, opened the door for Kylian Mbappé to leave last summer but only to Liverpool. Henrique did not want the 24-year-old to join Real Madrid but the player rejected the option to join Jurgen Klopp’s side.

PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and too Henrique, were asking for 400M euros (£352M) for the sale of Mbappé.

The PSG forward ultimately ended up staying with the parisians after signing a new contract until 2024 with the option of a further year.

The president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, was left feeling betrayed as he believed Mbappé was in agreement with the terms Madrid were offering.

Mbappé tried to limit the damage among Madrid fans as he posted a message on social media.

“I will be the first Real Madrid supporter in the Champions League final,” said Mbappe.

However, the message was not taken well with many supporters as they reacted angrily.
