Predicted Manchester City XI VS Real Madrid

Manchester City and Real Madrid meet in the Champions League once again this evening. They faced off in the semi-finals of last year’s competition, a tie that the Cityzens ended up winning convincingly 5-1 on aggregate.

Unlike last time out, Man City are seriously sweating over injuries. Neither Kyle Walker or Nathan Ake are in the squad for the trip to Madrid, and Josko Gvardiol is a major doubt after picking up a knock during the win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola has a reputation for mixing it up in the Champions League knock-out rounds, but he’s running out of options at the back. Swiss international Manuel Akanji is likely to start at left-back, with youngster, Rico Lewis filling in for Walker on the opposite flank.

Ederson will likely come back in to replace Stefan Ortega in goal. At the other end of the pitch, there’s no such injury dilemma. Phil Foden is having the best season of his young career, while Kevin de Bruyne has come back to play a pivotal role since coming back from a long-term injury.
