Portugal see Jose Mourinho as a priority to replace Fernando Santos

Portugal Football Federation currently see Jose Mourinho as the priority option to replace the outgoing Fernando Santos.

Portugal’s loss to Morocco in the quarter-final of the World Cup meant that Santos’ job was at risk and Record Portugal have provided some details about the situation, stating that Santos’ exit is expected to be made official at some point today as the final decision has been made.

The contract has been terminated and it is only awaiting a confirmation. Fernando Gomes, the president of the Portugal Football Federation, sees Mourinho as the priority option to replace Santos. There has been talk in the last few days about the possibility of Mourinho managing both Roma and Portugal at the same time.
