PLAYER RATINGS | Qatar 1-3 Senegal

Hosts Qatar picked up a 3-1 loss at the hands of Senegal and have now been effectively knocked out of the FIFA World Cup.

While Mohammed Muntari did score and brought about the nation’s first ever goal in World Cup history, the goal came after Senegal had made it 2-0, thanks to goals from Boulaye Dia and Famara Diedhiou. Late in the game, Bamba Dieng sealed the all three points for the African side.

Key performers

Ismaila Sarr, 7: The Watford man was at his flying best, as he was regularly taking defenders on – similar to what he did in the loss to Netherlands. He won five ground duels, played one key pass and combined regularly with those around him.

Idrissa Gueye, 7: The Everton midfielder was key for Senegal, as he won two tackles and made a couple of interceptions. He also did well in the attacking phase, as he played one key pass and also played three crosses into the box.
