England were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by the United States, as they put in a dour performance against a bright opposition.

England did have a fair amount of chances to take the lead, but could never sustain any form of pressure as the USA managed to conduct play from back to front.

Key performers

Harry Maguire, 7: It was another imperious performance by the Manchester United captain after the show he put on against Iran in the first game. He won three aerial duels and won two ground duels, while making eight interceptions.

Tyler Adams, 7: Adams had impressed in the game against Wales for the USA and he did quite well today too, helping his side conduct and control play from the back. He always showed himself for the ball, helping his side build with an extra man at the back.

Christian Pulisic, 7: The Chelsea man was probably the best player on the pitch, as the winger hit the woodwork once, played one key pass and was always looking to make things happen in the final. While none of his crosses came off, Pulisic came closest to scoring for his side.
