Brazil had already qualified for the last 16 when they took on Cameroon on Friday night. The five time world champions huffed and they puffed but the Cameroon defence stood strong, before Cameroon stole all three points in added time after a goal from their captain who was then got his second yellow for removing his shirt in celebration. The win wasn’t enough to help Cameroon qualify though as Switzerland go through as the second team in Group G.
Key Performers
Devis Epassy | The Cameroonian goalkeeper put in a fine performance against the Samba stars, denying Gabriel Martinelli on multiple occasions. His saves and distribution were pivotal for Cameroon in not letting Brazil run away with it.
Enzo Ebosse | Ebosse like his goalkeeper put in a good defensive performance to keep the star studded Brazil side at bay despite all their chances and shots. Contributing five clearances and four tackles, the centre back can be happy with his display against the favourites to go all the way in the competition.
Vincent Aboubakar | The man wearing the captains armband for Cameroon had a whirlwind 91st minute, scoring the winner against Brazil then receiving a second yellow for removing his shirt in celebration. What a moment that was.
