Barcelona midfielder Pedri had sparkled in Spain’s excellent 7-0 win over Costa Rica yesterday, alongside the likes of Gavi and Dani Olmo.
Highly impressive performances are not a surprise for Pedri, but he stood out against Costa Rica and while he played only 57 minutes, the teenager showed his ability to break down opposition lines and play through the opposition blocks once again.
As per FIFA Training Centre data, the 19-year-old executed 22 line-breaks during his time on the pitch and 100 percent of them were successful, which is exceptional. 19 of those 22 were passes and a majority of them were from the midfield.
The midfielder offered himself for a pass 81 times and was successfully able to do that in 56.8 percent of times. A majority of them were in the heart of the park.
More than that, the Barcelona star’s technical ability can be highlighted by a tweet posted by UtdArena, as the player completed 86 passes out of a total 89 and he had 92 touches only. This suggests that Pedri’s awareness of space is quite excellent.
