According to The Atheltic, N’Golo Kanté took part in a behind-closed-door friendly on Friday as he continues his recovery to full fitness following a hamstring injury.
The Chelsea midfielder has not featured in the Premier League since the second game of the season back in August during a 2-2 draw with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Kanté came through the friendly versus Charlton unscathed as the 31-year-old played for 60 minutes during Chelsea’s 3-0 victory.
Blues boss Graham Potter previously hinted at a step up in rehabilitation for the French international last week.
“N’Golo’s due to carry on training Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with potentially a game to give him some minutes,” he said.
Chelsea are currently languishing in mid-table in the Premier League however they progressed through to the last eight of the Champions League earlier this month after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on aggregate.
Kanté’s return to fitness will be a welcome boost for the West London club as they face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the competition next month across two legs.
