Newcastle United are set to rival Manchester United for the signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The Serie A’s top goalscorer has been linked with a multitude of big clubs after netting 25 league-goals during Gli Azzurri’s Scudetto-winning season.
Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the North East club have made contact with the agent of the 24-year-old, however, the Magpies will likely have to pay a minimum of £130million.
The Red Devils have been closely linked with the Nigerian but the Italian-based outlet La Repubblica believe United will not go beyond the figure of €110m to sign the forward.
As such, it would leave the door open for the Magpies if they are willing to meet Napoli’s valuation this summer, with the transfer window set to reopen on Wednesday June, 14.
Newcastle secured a top-four finish in the Premier League which will see the club return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2002/03 campaign.
