Newcastle United set to revive James Maddison interest

According to the Daily Telegraph, Newcastle United will renew their interest in Leicester City playmaker James Maddison as the club look to sign ‘five’ quality players this summer.

The Tyneside club will reportedly bid for Maddison at the end of the season as Eddie Howe prepares for European football next season.

Newcastle will only pursue the deal if the player is keen on the move as they attempt to recruit totally committed players.

Although, the 26-year-old is thought to be ‘receptive’ to any forthcoming offer and that is understandable given the current troubles at Leicester.

The Foxes are two points adrift of safety with three games remaining and the Magpies look set to secure Champions League qualification ahead of next season.

Maddison will make the trip to the North East towards the end of the month as Newcastle host Leicester on Monday, May 22nd, at St. James’ Park.
