Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is set to add a quality player to his squad as the club has reportedly reached an agreement to sign Southampton full-back Tino Livramento. The 20-year-old will be the English club’s third signing in the current transfer window after Newcastle secured the signings of Sandro Tonali and Yankuba Minteh. Livramento’s addition to the Newcastle squad is expected to add a lot of quality to the team.
As per a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been reached between all the parties involved in this deal. The package for this transfer is reported to be over £35m, along with add-ons. The fee is something Southampton wanted, and hence, the deal works in their favour. Newcastle United have already booked the medical for Livramento and have also agreed personal terms with the player.
Livramento’s signing will add a lot of depth to the full-back position for Newcastle. Last season, the 20-year-old was marred with injuries and could only make two appearances for the senior squad. However, that shouldn’t take away anything from his abilities as a player. Over the years, Livramento has proven himself to be a good dribbler of the ball, along with having great interception abilities. It will be interesting to see what he achieves with Newcastle.
