Newcastle United eye Kieran Tierney

According to the Mirror, Newcastle United are plotting a summer move for Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney, who is believed to be open to joining the North East club.

Tierney is becoming ‘increasingly frustrated’ at the Gunners with the 25-year-old keen to play regular first-team football. The former Celtic player has started four Premier League games this season.

The Scottish international made a £25m switch from Celtic to the North London club in August 2019 but he has lost his starting position to Ukrainian International Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Zinchenko joined the club last summer from Premier League champions Manchester City in a deal worth £32m.

Mikel Arteta’s side currently sit top of the league despite suffering two defeats earlier this month. The Gunners began February winless in three league games before securing back-to-back away victories against Aston Villa and Leicester City.

The Gunners host Everton this Wednesday with the Toffees looking to bounce back from their 2-0 home defeat to Unai Emery’s Villa side last weekend.
