Fabrizio Romano has reported that talks are currently taking place “these hours” for Levi Colwill’s new contract. Chelsea have improved their initial proposal, and want to make it happen.
Talks will continue, and Chelsea are confident on getting it done. They have always described Colwill as “untouchable“, and not for sale.
The 20-year-old was on loan with Brighton for the 2022/23 season, making 22 appearances in all competitions, providing three assists, as well as contributing to seven clean sheets. Colwill also played in the European Under-21 Championship, winning the competition with England, as they beat Spain in the final 1-0.
After a brilliant campaign in 2022/23, Chelsea have always remained clear that Colwill is part of their long terms plans, and is not for sale. This hasn’t stopped interest in the English defender, who has had bids from Brighton to make his stay permanent with The Seagulls, as well as interest from Liverpool.
Colwill has made two appearances in pre season for Chelsea so far, playing two 45 minute halves in two separate games, whilst The Blues tour in the USA.
