Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea have entered negotiations with Manchester City for Cole Palmer. City are said to want a fee of around £45m to advance in discussions. Chelsea have already made contact with the players side, and Palmer would be open to joining the Blues.
The 21-year-old made 25 appearances for the Citizens in the 2022/23 campaign, scoring one goal, providing one assist and tallying a total of 850 minutes. Palmer has already scored twice for City in the 2023/24 season, playing three times for a total of 121 minutes.
The young Englishman is highly rated, and has been speculated with moves to West Ham, Brighton, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig this summer. However Chelsea have now added Palmer to their list of attacking targets, and are moving quickly in negotiations to try and add the forward to their squad.
Palmer would be Chelsea’s 11th addition this summer, after another big transfer window at Chelsea, with many incomings and outgoings.
