According to Nottinghamshirelive, Nottingham Forest full-back Neco Williams fractured his jaw during Wednesday night’s 3-1 victory at the City Ground versus Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 22-year-old was ‘stretchered off before being taken to hospital where he is due to have surgery on Thursday.’
Following the game, Forest manager Steve Cooper said: “I did catch a glimpse of Neco coming off and saw blood. Fingers crossed it’s not too bad. His health comes first, regardless of results.”
Forest’s win moves them out of the bottom three, one point above East Midlands rivals Leicester City in 18th.
Cooper’s side travel to London this weekend ahead of their clash against Brentford before hosting Southampton on Monday the eighth of May.
With just five games remaining, Forest fans will likely have their eye on Everton’s Thursday night fixture as they take on Newcastle United at Goodison Park.
The Toffees sit 19th place in the Premier League, two points behind Forest with a game in hand.
