Fabrizio Romano has reported that Moussa Diaby “has said yes” to joining Aston Villa, after reports today of Al Nassr moving for the Frenchman.
Aston Villa will pay “in excess of €50m to Leverkusen for Diaby” according to Romano. This comes after Villa’s first bid of €35m plus add-ons was rejected by Bayer Leverkusen.
The 24-year-old made 48 appearances for the German club in the 2022/23 season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. Diaby predominantly plays on the right wing, but can also play off the left, and through the middle if needed.
Diaby has picked Aston Villa over a huge deal from Al Nassr, and he is excited to join Emery’s project. A big factor is playing Premier League football for the Frenchman, as reported by Romano.
The winger will join Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres at Villa Park, with Aston Villa improving their team ready for Europe next season.
