Speaking to Moroccan outlet Le Matin after his team’s 2-0 win over Belgium in Group F, just their third-ever World Cup win, Morocco coach Walid Regragui explained that his team will remain hard to beat in Qatar. Across his five games in charge, Morocco are yet to concede a goal under Regragui who explained:
“I’m satisfied. We know where we’re going. In this kind of competition, you have to decide between putting on a show and achieving your goals – we’ve made our choice. We have a coherent team block, so it’s difficult to beat us as everyone works hard. After that, with the quality players we have, we know that at any time we can create a chance… I’m not saying that we’re a great team but, as I have always repeated, it will be difficult to beat us in this World Cup”.
Morocco are now on the verge of making the tournament’s last 16 for only the second time in their history ahead of their final group game with Canada on Thursday.
