Speaking to beIN Sport, as quoted by Le Matin, Morocco coach Walid Regragui assessed his team’s opening draw with Croatia at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, explaining the 0-0 draw, in which the Atlas Lions impressed against a strong Croatia side, was a “good result.” Regragui said:
“Honestly, we were up against a great team. They have a very strong midfield. We tried to work as a team but we perhaps respected them too much at times. We were tired at the end but it’s a good result… We are still in the race [for the last 16] but it’s a shame, the few opportunities we had, we didn’t take them, and we made a lot of technical mistakes in midfield too. We have four days left to work and recover now.”
Morocco face Belgium on November 27th in their next Group F encounter in Qatar.
