Mexican football legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco spoke about the match between Argentina and his nation in the FIFA World Cup 2022 group stages while backing forward Hirving Lozano as Mexico’s key player in the tournament.
According to a compiled report from media news outlet Record, the current governor of Morelos district, Blanco talked about Mexico’s first game against Poland and El Tri’s chances of reaching the Round of 16 by defeating Argentina, he said: “Beating Poland is essential because you are motivated for the next match, which is Argentina, imagine beating Argentina, it would be a very important step.”
Cuauhtemoc Blanco who played 119 matches for the Mexico National Team between 1995 and 2014 is bullish about Mexico’s chances and draws out a spontaneous comparison between Argentina’s Lionel Messi and La Tri’s Hirving Lozano, often nicknamed ‘Chucky,’ “They have Messi, but we have Chucky. Here you have to see the weaknesses of the Argentines and Poles and take advantage of them. The first game is very important because if you don’t win you’re practically out,” commented the 49-year-old.
