As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are set André Onana from Inter Milan.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper is now set to travel to Manchester to undergo medical tests, before signing onto what is set to be a five-year contract with the English side.
Having been in discussions for several weeks, both Inter and United have now agreed upon the structure and payment of the deal, which is understood to be worth €50m plus a potential €5m in add-on.
The Cameroonian is set to replace the outgoing Spaniard David de Gea at Old Trafford next season, who recently departed the club following the expiration of his contract. Furthermore, having previously worked with Erik ten Hag during his time at Ajax, the Barcelona academy graduate is expected to transform the way The Red Devils play.
His excellent composure under pressure and ability to play line-breaking passes into both midfielders and forwards will significantly help United transition the ball from defence to attack and play out of their own defensive third effectively- something which they struggled to do last season.
Having already signed Mason Mount from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Onana will be United’s second signing of the summer, and, once the deal for is officially completed, it is understood they will request a VISA for their new shot-stopper, as they aim to have him join the side in USA for their pre-Season tour, which they begins this Wednesday.
