Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United are negotiating with Atlanta today for Rasmus Højlund, with direct talks continuing between the two clubs.
United feel now is their chance to “attack” the deal, and reach a final agreement with Atlanta for Højlund. On the players side it has always been clear, he wants to join the Red Devils.
The 20-year-old striker made 42 appearances for Atlanta in the 2022/23 campaign, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists. Atlanta finished 5th in the Serie A with 64 points, qualifying for the Europa League next season.
Transfermarkt value Højlund at €45.00m, however the deal will cost significantly more than this fee due to his young age and star potential.
PSG are also said to be interested in the Denmark international, however Manchester United are strong favourites to land the youngster this summer.
Højlund would join Mason Mount, and André Onana as Manchester United’s latest additions, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.
