Manchester United must pay £22m if they want to sign Marcel Sabitzer

Manchester United will have to pay £22m to sign midfielder Marcel Sabitzer on a permanent deal, according to Florian Plettenberg.

Sabitzer joined the Red Devils on a six-month loan in January but he is still under contract at Bayern Munich until 2025.

United are interested in signing the Austrian international on a permanent deal but there have been no developments on negotiations at this stage whilst the club’s ownership remains uncertain.

Erik ten Hag’s priority signings are; a central defender, a striker and a central midfielder. Napoli’s scudetto winners Victor Oshimen and Kim Min-jae have both been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Fourth-placed United are on the brink of securing a place in next season’s Champions League which would likely boost their transfer pot ahead of a return to the competition.

A point from the remaining two games, Chelsea (h) and Fulham (h), would be enough to secure a top four finish.
