Manchester United interested in Jeremie Frimpong

According to Sky Germany, Manchester United are interested in Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong.

The 22-year-old has scored eight goals in the Bundesliga this season whilst providing five assists in 26 appearances for the German side.

The Under-21 Netherlands international joined the club from Celtic in January 2021 for a fee believed to be in the region of €11m.

Frimpong came through the Manchester City academy before joining the Scottish giants in September 2019 where he made 51 appearances.

United manager Erik ten Hag has often relied upon Portuguese international Diogo Dalot but it appears the Dutchman is keen to strengthen his options at full-back.

Dalot was signed from Porto during José Mourinho spell at the club for a reported €22m fee.

The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on the weekend, leaving them winless in three Premier League games.

United host Brentford on Wednesday at Old Trafford before facing relegation-threatened Everton on Saturday.
