Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to launch a move ahead of Tottenham Hotspur target, David Raya, this summer. (Telegraph)
The 27-year-old Spanish international has 18 months left on his current contract and he is expected to leave Brentford at the end of the season. Raya has impressed since arriving to Brentford in 2019 in a £3m move from Blackburn Rovers.
His distribution and willingness to receive the ball in build-up play has certainly heightened his admirers around the Premier League.
The expectation is Raya will cost in the region of £15-20M, which represents great value for a goalkeeper entering his prime years.
Any potential move from Manchester United will depend on whether the club successfully qualify for the Champions League which would significantly improve their spending power.
United are currently in talks with David De Gea over a new contract but the club are surveying other goalkeeping options within the market.
De Gea was left out of Spain’s World Cup squad but his club form with United this season has been accomplished.
