Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson completes Crystal Palace medical ahead of £20m move

As per Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has completed his medical with Crystal Palace ahead of a £20m move to the side.

The deal is said to be worth an initial £15m plus £5m in add-ons, as The Eagles look to secure a new starting goalkeeper with Vicente Guaita set to depart.

As for United, this move comes alongside the expected arrival of Altay Bayindir, who is set to sign for £5m from Fenerbahçe as secondary option behind The Red Devils’ new No.1 André Onana.

Henderson will make the move to Selhurst Park after previously being linked with Nottingham Forest- where he spent last season on loan. Steve Cooper’s side were looking to secure another loan move for the Englishman, who kept six clean sheets in 18 Premier League appearances for them last season, before sustaining an injury in January which kept the him out for the rest of the campaign.

The 26-year-old will become Palace’s third signing of the summer, with Jefferson Lerma having arrived on a free transfer from Bournemouth, whilst young Brazilian forward Matheus França has joined for just over £17m.

Roy Hodgson’s side will hope to have Henderson available for their home match against Wolves this Sunday, where they’ll look to secure their second victory of the new season, having drawn one, lost one, and won one in each of their first three games.
