Luka Modrić on Morocco draw: “It was a difficult match, especially in the first half.”

As quoted by Sportske, speaking after Croatia’s disappointing 0-0 World Cup draw with Morocco in Group F, Real Madrid man and Croatia captain Luka Modrić, now 37, described a “difficult” game, explaining:

“This was a difficult match, especially in the first half. In the last 10 or 15 minutes we started to play better and, in the second half we were even better than Morocco. We had some chances, as well as at the end of the first half, and it’s a shame that we didn’t take advantage of them. If we’d scored, we would certainly have been stronger after that, as they would have had to open up. We wanted to open the World Cup with a win, unfortunately it didn’t work out.”

Croatia;s next game in Qatar will take place on Sunday as Modrić and his team face Canada.
