Liverpool interested in Chelsea’s Mason Mount

According to a report by The Guardian, Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount is thought to be of interest to Liverpool and the merseyside club have been putting plans in place to sign the Englishman this summer. Juventus are also said to be interested in the player.

Mount has 18 months left on his current contract and Chelsea are stepping up their attempts to agree a new deal for the 24-year-old.

Mount’s current contract places him as one of the lowest earners at the club, with the player thought to be earning approximately £75,000-a-week.

Liverpool are keen to strengthen their ageing midfield after a poor opening half of the season with the club sitting in ninth, level on points with Chelsea.

Both sides are in jeopardy of failing to qualify for the Champions League with Newcastle currently occupying fourth, ten points clear.

Graham Potter’s Chelsea side will face Liverpool on Saturday at Anfield.
