Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has insisted that he’s happy for his nation’s traditional rivals Brazil after Tite’s side qualified for the last 16 at the World Cup following a 1-0 win over Switzerland in Group G. Scaloni explained:
“I’m the biggest fan of South American football and I’m happy that Brazil have qualified for the next round. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong.”
Argentina, also a pre-tournament favourite like neighbours Brazil, have, unlike Brazil, not lived up to that label after a shock opening defeat to Saudi Arabia before struggling to a win against an underperforming Mexico side. Argentina need to beat Poland in their final Group C game to be sure of making the last 16.
