Kylian Mbappé wary of Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson

French superstar Kylian Mbappé admitted he is aware of the Republic of Ireland’s teenage striker Evan Ferguson ahead of their fixture on Monday night at the Aviva Stadium.

The 18-year-old Brighton and Hove Albion player is enjoying a magnificent breakout season and has earned rave reviews surrounding his performances with some reports suggesting Manchester United are keen on signing the Irishman.

“We’ve seen some clips about (Evan Ferguson),” Mbappe said. “Of course, he is a great striker, an important striker for that team.

“But we hope tomorrow he’s going to do nothing and that means we are going to win and we’re going to do our job. But he is a good player,” quotes courtesy of The Athletic.

Ferguson has scored seven goals in all competitions this campaign whilst providing three assists despite only starting 10 games.

Republic of Ireland defeated Latvia 3-2 last week in an international friendly, a game in which Ferguson scored after he stroked home a pull-back from Michael Obafemi.
