According to Fabrizio Romano, João Pedro is set to be unveiled as Brighton’s new signing soon.
The 21-year-old Brazilian has made 35 appearances for Watford this season in the Championship, scoring 11 goals and contributing four assists.
The dynamic forward can play be deployed across a multitude of positions but is best used as a centre-forward or false nine.
According to Transfermarkt, Pedro’s current market value sits at around €24m, however Brighton have agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £30m, which will break the Seagulls transfer record.
Brighton are well known for their recruitment and ability to turn profit on established players, before redeveloping an incoming player within that cycle.
Pedro will join a plethora of talented forwards such as Kaoru Mitoma, Julio Enciso and Evan Ferguson who have all emerged on the South coast this season as top quality players.
