João Palhinha to Bayern depending on Fulham finding replacement

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Bayern are very optimistic on a deal for João Palhinha, after new talks were held overnight. The deal now seems to be dependent on Fulham finding a replacement for the midfielder.

The 28-year-old made 40 appearances for Fulham in the 2022/23 campaign, scoring four goals and contributing to 11 clean sheets. Palhinha tallied a total of 3,445 minutes in the 2022/23 season.

According to Transfermarkt, Palhinha is valued at 40.00m, however the reported fee is closer to 70.00m, which gives Fulham a good amount of money to find a replacement.

The Portuguese midfielder would become Bayern Munich’s sixth signing this summer, joining the likes of Harry Kane, Min-jae Kim, Daniel Peretz, Konrad Laimer and Raphaël Guerreiro. This would take Bayern’s spending over the 200.00m mark.

Bayern Munich will have an eye on the Champions League trophy after their spending this summer, and their group consists of Manchester United, Galatasaray and F.C. Copenhagen.
