On loan Bayern Munich full-back João Cancelo will be eligible to play against his parent club Manchester City as the two sides draw each other in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
There are no UEFA restrictions on loan players featuring against their parent clubs unless there is a clause in their loan agreement, as reported by The Athletic.
Cancelo left City in January to join Bayern Munich in search of regular first-team football after the 28-year-old fell down the pecking order with Rico Lewis often starting in his position.
Since joining Julian Nagelsmann’s side he hasn’t featured as a consistent starter and there were reports suggesting he was growing in frustration.
Meanwhile, Manchester City continue to apply the pressure on the Premier League leaders Arsenal who sit five points clear of the Citizens with just 11 games remaining.
The Gunners crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday night after Sporting Lisbon advanced through on penalties to secure a place in the last eight versus Juventus.
