Durán joins the midlands side in a deal which could rise to £17.75m.

The Columbia international made 22 appearances for Chicago Fire in the MLS last season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.

The left-footed striker made his debut for the Columbian senior national team in September 2022 as an 18-year-old.

He becomes Villa’s second signing of the window following Alex Moreno’s £13.3m switch from Real Betis.

Durán is in contention to make his debut against Leicester City on the 4th of February as Unai Emery’s side look to continue their impressive form.

The West-Midlands side have won five out of their last seven games in the Premier league following the arrival of Emery.

Durán fills the void left by Danny Ings who recently made a permanent switch to West Ham in a move that could cost the London club £15m. (BBC)
