Harry Kane “mentally stronger” and ready for the World Cup with England, says Antonio Conte

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte believes Harry Kane is ready for the World Cup and is “mentally stronger” ahead of the campaign.

Kane has had a quietly impressive season to date for Spurs, scoring his 13th goal of the season against Leeds at the weekend in that seven goal thriller.

As reported in the Telegraph, Conte heaped praise onto the English captain for his season to date , and insisted he is ready to take the world by storm:

“Now he is arriving to play the World Cup with great enthusiasm, in a good physical condition and in my opinion he is mentally stronger than before.

“He feels a lot of responsibility because he’s the captain of England. I consider England to be one of the best teams in the world, one of the candidates to have an important tournament. For this reason, I know he wants to play an amazing tournament.”

The former Italy national team boss ended with a supporting message for his star striker and revealed who he is backing to triumph in Qatar:

“I wish the best for him and for England because Italy is not playing in the World Cup I can become a supporter of England!”.

Kane will be hoping to lead England to another successful tournament, and maybe a step further to finally bring football home.
