Harry Kane is open to new Spurs deal

According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur and England striker, Harry Kane is open to signing a new deal amidst Manchester United interest.

The 29-year-old has 18 months remaining left on his contract and no talks have took place since August 2021 after a move to Manchester City failed to materialise.

Recent reports suggest Manchester United have been monitoring his contract situation with Erik Ten Hag’s side needing a long-term striker following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

David Ornstein reports that Kane’s priority is to succeed with Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite Kane’s preference, if a new contract cannot be agreed, Spurs must decide whether to sell the player this summer in order to avoid losing their prized asset on a free transfer in 2024.

Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte, is also subjected to uncertainty surrounding his future at the club. The Italian’s current contract expires in June with no option to extend.

Conte’s future at the club may depend on how the North-London side finish the season. Spurs currently sit fifth in the Premier league which leaves them six points off the top four.
