Gabriel Martinelli is set to miss the remainder of the season after suffering ankle ligament damage during Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Sunday, as reported by The Athletic.
The Brazilian winger has made 46 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists, his best output since being promoted to the Arsenal senior team in 2019.
Arsenal’s two remaining games of the campaign come against Nottingham Forrest (a) and Wolves (h).
The 21-year-old is a key player for Arsenal and has a contract at the club until June 30, 2027. Therefore they will not want to take any risks with his injury.
With only two games remaining of the season, Arsenal sit second, four points behind league-leaders Manchester City.
The Citizens have the opportunity to secure the title on Sunday against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, which would be their third consecutive league title triumph.
