Portugal national team boss Fernando Santos is expected to depart the side, following their 1-0 loss to Morocco in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
After the loss to Morocco, who are now the first African side to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup, Santos spoke to the media and he was asked about his future at the helm of the national team.
The manager stated: “This is not the time to answer that. Tomorrow I will fly to Lisbon and we will discuss with the president about my future, as always.”
While Santos only casts doubts about his future, Fabrizio Romano has stated that there is an expectation that the 68-year-old will depart Portugal in the next few days.
