Speaking to German broadcaster ZDF, ex-Qatari footballer Khalid Salman discussed his perspective on homosexuals, less than 2 weeks out from the start of the World Cup in his home country.
“They have to accept our rules here. [Homosexuality] is haram. You know what haram [forbidden] means? I am not a strict Muslim but why is it haram? Because it is damage in the mind.”
The interview was then cut off by a senior Qatari press official.
