According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have submitted a bid worth £40m plus £5m in add-ons for Chelsea’s midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Chelsea will make a decision soon with just over 24 hours remaining in the transfer window.
Other clubs are are also interested in the 22-year-old who was part of England’s World Cup squad last year.
Gallagher has made 18 appearances in the Premier League this season scoring one goal and directly assisting once. Despite a relatively low goalscoring tally, Gallagher enjoyed a terrific campaign last season whilst on loan Crystal Palace.
He scored eight goals from midfield in the Premier League whilst assisting three times.
Everton will be hopeful he can replicate the form shown at Crystal Palace, should he sign for the Toffees.
After Newcastle United completed the signing of Anthony Gordon, Everton will be keen to replace their joint top scorer in the Premier League this season.
